Depth does not come from complexity; it comes from refining the essentials. The Essentials of Qigong is a six-day immersive retreat that passes on the core principles of internal movement, breathing and energy work, with close attention to quality.
The retreat has two purposes: it gives beginners a clean entry point into traditional practice, and it gives experienced practitioners the precise technical adjustments they need to refine their internal mechanics.
Over six days of structured practice we leave aside what is not needed and focus on the core of the Aknanda Qigong Method. Aknanda means “indivisible space” in Sanskrit: the method brings together traditional internal arts to work with body, mind and spirit as one. Through attention, conscious breathing and deliberate practice you will learn to connect physical alignment with internal alchemy, and leave with the tools for an independent, lifelong practice that supports your health and emotional balance.
Begin with quality. Deepen with precision. This six-day retreat is open to everyone who wants to learn the roots of the practice.
Highlights
The Four Phenomena
Relaxation, stability, rooting and integration as the foundations of Qigong and internal practice.
Structural Integrity
Aligning the skeleton to carry force and gravity efficiently, with less muscular strain.
Embodied Autonomy
A steady inner connection and stillness that does not depend on your surroundings.
Pillars of the Practice
- The Four Pillars of Experience: The physical and internal signs of correct Qigong practice: relaxation (effort turned into efficiency), stability (structural alignment), rooting (connection to the ground) and integration (the whole body working as one).
- Internal Mechanics: Generating movement from the inside out. We explore how intention (Yi, 意) guides vital energy (Qi, 氣), and how to move with structure instead of muscular tension.
- Conscious Breathing: Breathing as the main bridge between the physical and the subtle. You will learn to use the full capacity of the lungs, coordinate breath with slow movement and use specific patterns to release tension and stagnation.
- Internal Alchemy & the Three Regulations: The classical integration of body, breath and mind. Refining these three aspects nourishes vital energy and helps regulate the nervous system, turning practice into daily work on health and mental clarity.
- Refinement for All Levels: Time for individual adjustments. Beginners build good habits from the first day; experienced practitioners correct subtle structural errors and clean up their current practice.
- Zen Contemplative Practice: Seated meditation to develop equanimity and clarity. You will learn to move from rhythmic breathing and dynamic movement into stillness, with your attention in the present moment.
